About

Built in Ireland, for the people Revenue catches off guard.

TaxPot is a small, focused tool made by a solo founder in Ireland. It exists because the October pay-and-file deadline shouldn't be the first time a sole trader finds out what they owe.

What TaxPot does

It does the maths every month — Income Tax, USC and PRSI (Class S) — and projects the balance you'll owe on 31 October, including the Year-2 “double hit” of a balancing payment plus preliminary tax in one go. Alongside that, it tracks your turnover against the Irish VAT registration thresholds (€42,500 for services, €85,000 for goods) and warns you before the 30-day registration window closes.

What it deliberately isn't

  • Not tax advice.Everything TaxPot shows is an estimate based on the figures you enter and current Irish tax rates. Confirm every filing with an accountant or directly via Revenue's ROS.
  • Not bookkeeping software. If you want full accounts, Surf Accounts or Xero do that. TaxPot is about anticipating the bill, not recording every transaction.
  • Not a filing service. TaxPot never touches ROS and never files on your behalf. You file with your accountant or yourself; TaxPot tells you what to expect, when.
  • Not for companies. It's for sole traders who file a Form 11. Limited companies and employers aren't in scope yet.

Who it's for

Irish non-trade service providers — designers, consultants, coaches, therapists, tutors, contractors. If you file a Form 11 (Schedule D Case I/II) and don't carry stock, materials or RCT, TaxPot is built for you.

Where it is right now

Pre-launch. Today you can join the waitlist, or drop €1 to lock in the founder rate of €9/month for life (refunded against your first month at launch; standard price will be €12/month). The product itself — manual entry first, then bank-feed integration through regulated EU Open Banking — is being built towards a summer 2026 launch with the first 25 paying users.
